Introduction about the Vidyalaya

The main objectives of NVS are to provide quality modern education including strong component of culture, inculcation of values, awareness of environment, adventure activities, physical education, promotion of national integration and to serve in each districts as focal point for the improvement in the quality of education. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Tudipaju, Phulbani has been serving the society meritoriously since two decades. It is fully residential co-educational institution established under the NPE 1986 by Ministry of HRD to provide quality modern education to the talented children of rural area including strong component of culture, adventure activities, awareness of environment, Physical education, Promotion of National Integration. It is a full fledged institution, in lush green setting with play ground, well equipped laboratories, a library with 7096 books, Museum corners, Mathematics laboratory, Art Room, Music room, Resource room and Computer Laboratory with VSAT connectivity. Present age, being the age of Information Technology, Students form class VI is encouraged to handle computer. Almost all teachers have undergone Technology for Education training programme, a part of project Shikshya, conducted by Microsoft to support and enrich learning process and to empower technology skills in teachers. Shortly it is going to introduced Information Technology (IT) as a subject in +2 level.(XI and XII) National Integration being one of the main objective of NVS every year and one third students of class IX migrated to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Padmi, Mandla(M.P) and vice versa. Apart from this under mini migration scheme students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Surangi, Ganjam and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Goshala, Sambalpur migrate to this Vidyalaya in class XI. Its contribution towards social and Humanitarian cause has been significant. Its NSS wings, NCC, Scout and Guides unit, eco club, National green crops provide forum such activities. There are various committees like Parent Teacher Council, Vidyalaya Advisory Committee, Vidyalaya Management Committee and Purchased Advisory Committee for the smooth administration of the Vidyalaya. Hon'ble Collector is the Chairman of the Vidyalaya whose guidance and advice is taken as and when required. Thus it would not be any exaggeration to state that, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is a truly successful institution in helping the children to reach the top by providing them quality modern education.

Building

The Vidyalaya is having a PERMANENT BUILDING at Tudipaju. The distance from the town is only 5 kms. It is having well communicated with the Town (Phulbani) and there are so many ways of communication to reach in the Vidyalaya.

Geographical Location & Accessbility

Kandhamal is situated at a distance of 211 Kms. From the State Capital, Bhubaneswar. Access to capital city is itself a major problem. The passenger and the goods traffic is completely depend on SH-1 which is in a very bad shape because of hill range. The other large commercial centers like Berhampur, Bhawanipatna, Sambalpur and Nayagarh ar at distances of 170 Kms, 215 Kms, 320 Kms and120 Kms respectively. The poor connectivity has adversely affected the economic growth of the district besides deprivation of the general population of basic minimum necessities of life particularly health, education and modern amenities.

Mess Management - Better to reflect tentative Menu.

The Vidyalaya has a well furnished dinning hall with the seating capacity of 300 persons at a time. Hygienic and nutritious food is provided to the inmates thrice daily with the strict supervision of the catering Assistant and staff nurse with in the sanctioned amount.

Infrastructure Position.

Ours is a full-fledged Vidyalaya surrounded by lush green forest. Its Administration Block, consists of office, class room, Art room ,music room , library, computer laboratory, Science laboratory and Museum corner. There are also a big multipurpose hall, a dining hall , a play ground and staff quarters for all the staff member.
